As you have read above, I had the privilege and pleasure of being interviewed recently by an inspiring young woman named Sophia Wojdak. She is a 17 year old high school graduate from Edmonton, Alberta, and Miss Teenage Edmonton 2020. She earned her title in March and has been campaigning on a platform of arts appreciation since, partnering with multiple theatres and artists, like having an online art auction to raise money for essential workers and promote painters in her community.
She has also begun a series of interviews with inspiring Canadian women in her community, having spoken to councilors, producers, essential workers and playwrights. Knowing how isolated the world has become during Covid-19, Sophia came up with this project as a way to inspire and spread wisdom to young people not feeling motivated in this trying time. Sophia reached out to me as a female entrepreneur to share my story of inspiration and success.
She also started a campaign called #essentialworkersdeservecrowns which reached the international pageant community!
Recently, she competed for the title of Miss Teenage Canada and is currently fundraising for the pageants national charity, The Children’s Wish Foundation! https://www.gofundme.com/f/22e878i09c?sharetype=teams&member=4976556&utm_medium=copy_link&utm_source=customer&utm_campaign=p_na+share-sheet&rcid=ab37d03d10f6422e829427deb3e93e8b
Join me in congratulating her for her good works and efforts to raise awareness for worthy causes in her community and being a young woman of vision!
Sophia is an inspiring example of a young woman pursuing her dreams and endeavoring to make a difference in her community along the way. Congratulations Sophia! We know you will be successful in any endeavor you put your efforts to.
